AS COMUNIDADES RELIGIOSAS COMO ESTRUTURAS DE APOIO FRENTE À VIOLÊNCIA DOMÉSTICA PSICOLÓGICA CONTRA MULHERES

Abstract

The present research aims to analyze the experience of religious communities as tools to be used in the processes of overcoming psychological violence against womens. The trajectory proposed in this study was based on observations carried out in the period between 2018 and 2020, during the exercise of the position of Delegate of the Civil Police of the State of Espírito Santo, when I worked in the Women's Service Shift. At that time, I assisted many victims trapped in the cruel web of domestic violence, with women emotionally, psychologically and physically shaken, without structure and support to continue and break the cycle of pain and social isolation imposed by their aggressors. However, in the midst of the sadness, it was also possible to identify a manifest strength in certain victims who, even in the midst of their battles, demonstrated the desire to establish themselves in faith and hope for better days, with a spirituality bias identified in the use of expressions and attitudes, which denoted a deep desire to return to social interaction, paving a new path towards a balanced and happy life. This context aroused my interest in the search for strategies that could promote social inclusion and restoration of women victims of psychological violence, through the intervention of religious communities in the realization of the social function of religion. Thus, the research analyzes to what extent and how religious communities can act as support for overcoming and resignifying psychological violence against women. As the final outcome, the research presents a set of guidelines, including suggested protocols, for implementing the proposal.
