| Resumo: | O presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar a influência ou não da religião no tratamento medicamentoso de um grupo de participantes da terceira idade, de um município do leste de Minas Geriais. Considerando o aumento no número de indivíduos com quadro depressivo, no mundo e no Brasil, além de vários preconceitos no que concerne aos problemas mentais, incluindo a depressão, o trabalho pretendeu trazer para discussão o reconhecimento de saber ser a depressão uma doença de causas variadas e que envolve aspectos biológicos e psicológicas, necessitando assim de uma conciliação entre religião e medicina para auxiliar o indivíduo que apresente um quadro depressivo uma recuperação, uma vez que a religião possui forte influência na vida de boa parte dos indivíduos. O trabalho foi estruturado em três capítulos, a partir de uma pesquisa descritiva, iniciada a partir de uma revisão de literatura, seguida da aplicação de um questionário semi-estruturado no grupo de investigação, formado por participantes da terceira idade. Na parte da revisão de literatura foi imprescindível a escolha de teóricos que trabalhassem conceitos de religião, religiosidade e espiritualidade, tendo como aporte Campos e Murakami, Gomes, entre outros.Além da apresentação e delimitação de conceitos também foi feita uma apresentação sobre a depressão num percurso histórico, através de Solomon entre outros, entrelaçando a questão da depressão e a influência ou não da religião no tratamento medicamentoso, uma análise da Psicologia da religião, através de uma apresentação de Jung, coping religioso e como a religião interfere na vida dos indivíduos, através de teóricos como Pargamant, Koeing, Dalgalarrondo, entre outros.A partir da análise do questionário aplicado foi possível observar um avanço na concepção da depressão como doença que necessita de uma intervenção médica e tratamento variado, podendo incluir medicamentos, e uma interferência benéfica da religião na vida dos participantes, uma vez que atua de forma favorável, através do coping religioso e não interferindo na concepção da doença e seu tratamento. |
| Resumo Alternativo: | This study aimed to analyze the influence or not of religion in the drug treatment of a group of elderly participants, from a municipality in the east of Minas Gerais. Considering the increase in the number of individuals with depression, in the world and in Brazil, in addition to various prejudices regarding mental problems, including depression, the work aimed to bring to discussion the recognition of knowing that depression is a disease of various causes and that involves biological and psychological aspects, thus needing a reconciliation between religion and medicine to help the individual who presents a depressive condition for recovery, since religion has a strong influence on the lives of most individuals. The work was structured in three chapters, from a descriptive research, started from a literature review, followed by the application of a semi-structured questionnaire in the research group, formed by elderly participants. In the literature review, it was essential to choose theorists who worked on concepts of religion, religiosity and spirituality, with input from Campos and Murakami, Gomes, among others. In addition to the presentation and definition of concepts, a presentation on depression was also made. Historical journey, through Solomon among others, intertwining the issue of depression and the influence or not of religion in drug treatment, an analysis of the Psychology of religion, through a presentation by Jung, religious coping and how religion interferes in the lives of individuals , through theorists such as Pargamant, Koeing, Dalgalarrondo, among others. From the analysis of the questionnaire applied, it was possible to observe an advance in the conception of depression as a disease that needs medical intervention and varied treatment, which may include medication, and a beneficial interference of religion in participants' life, since it acts in a favorable way, through religious coping and not interfering in the conception of the disease and its treatment. |
