O DUALISMO RELIGIOSO NA FICCIONALIDADE LITERÁRIA DA SAGA STAR WARS

Abstract

This research deals with the relation that literary fiction of Star Wars has with the dualism that exists in the religious field. The problem of this dissertation is to analyze the relationship that the work has with religious dualism, highlighting the iconic figure of the Jedis and Siths, whose epistemological aporias concerning the use of the Force, whether luminous or black, denote to relate to the dualistic precepts of the religious sphere. The methodology used in this research was bibliographic, adopting the tools of semiotics, Christian epistemology, and pop culture, in conjunction with the literary works of Daniel Wallace, known as the Jedi Path and the Sith book, which presuppose that delimited the theme of this dissertation, due to the literary extensibility that this saga has. The specific objectives of this research are: To identify the relationships that may exist between Star Wars, semiotics, Christian epistemology and pop culture; Analyze which religious, patent and latent dualisms are related to the literature of this saga; And to infer what this dualism, through a metalinguistic receptivity, has to do with this work of science fiction. From the expected results, it should be noted that the epistemic that appears in this literary saga, by the representativeness of its agents, Jedis and Siths, for how the use of force, their actions denote relations strictly linked to the dichotomous universe of religions, because this struggle of the opposites, Right and wrong, good versus evil, sacred and profane, are part of the epistemological bulge of the spheres of knowledge.
