FORMAÇÃO DE LIDERANÇAS NA MODALIDADE EAD: A EXPERIÊNCIA DO CENTRO DE FORMAÇÃO TEOLÓGICA DA IGREJA METODISTA WESLEYANA

Abstract

The present work intends to investigate the possible relationship between Distance Education and the formation of pastors, based on a case study carried out at the Theological Formation Center of the Wesleyan Methodist Church (CEFORTE-EAD). It is therefore concerned with whether the training available in the EAD modality directly influences the profile of the pastors and whether the prejudice advocated by many regarding the formation of pastors at a distance has the same fundamental prejudice that is present in the assumption of that education is something that occurs exclusively in the classroom environment. To do so, it offers data on Distance Education in Brazil and presents the history of CEFORTE in the context of the Wesleyan Methodist Church; shows education and the sacred in the context of cyberspace. Finally, it presents the data of the research and proposes a discussion in the light of the theoretical foundation, highlighting the question: how does the relationship between the students and CEFORTE-EAD develop and how do they understand this space of theological knowledge construction?
