| metadata.dc.description.resumo: | Neste estudo, o foco da análise recai sobre a atuação política do papa Pio XII perante o nazismo e o Holocausto produzidos pela ideologia comandada por Hitler. Nessa perspectiva, foram analisadas posturas do pontífice frente ao regime de Hitler, a partir de pesquisa documental, que abarcou, especialmente, cartas de Pio XII, e pesquisa bibliográfica, a qual teve como referências, sobretudo, as obras “O papa de Hitler”, de Jonh Cornwell, e “Os judeus do papa”, de Gordon Thomas. A análise centrou-se nos questionamentos em relação ao fato de Pio XII ter ou não silenciado perante as atitudes do ditador nazista e seus colaboradores. |
| Abstract: | In this study, the focus of the analysis rests on the political performance of Pope Pius XII in the face of Nazism and the Holocaust produced by the ideology commanded by Hitler. In this perspective, the pope's positions with the Hitler regime were analyzed, based on documentary research, which included, especially, letters from Pius XII, and bibliographical research, which was mainly referred to as “Hitler's Pope”, by John Cornwell, and “The Jews of the Pope”, by Gordon Thomas. The analysis focused on the questioning of whether or not Pius XII was silenced by the attitudes of the Nazi dictator and his collaborators. |
